Brian Gochenour

Brian's Journey in Ministry and Work

Brian began preaching at the age of 20 and has since been blessed to serve churches in both Texas and Kansas. His educational background includes degrees from the University of Texas at Tyler and Lubbock Christian University, as well as the completion of a two-year preaching program within the Church of Christ. Alongside his ministry, Brian works as a software engineer.

At Westside, every member is considered a fellow laborer in Christ, with no one receiving a salary. 100% of the offerings are devoted to ministry and evangelistic outreach, which aligns with Brian’s passion for reaching souls that Jesus died to save through collaboration and a shared commitment to spreading the gospel.

Family Life

Brian has been married to his wonderful wife, Carrie, since December 1993. Together, they are blessed with four incredible children: Alethea, Charisma, Alexander, and Angelina. Their family has grown as Alethea and Charisma have married their wonderful husbands, Josh and Cole, adding two more sons to the family.

As a family, they are deeply committed to serving the Lord, enjoying time together, and frequenting coffee shops. Their home is brightened by Lola, their energetic German Shepherd, who keeps them entertained and occasionally wreaks havoc on the yard.

Brian and his family’s love for Jesus and for people is at the heart of everything they do. They look forward to continuing this faith journey in partnership with others, driven by their shared dedication to spreading the gospel and living out their faith.
